All children enrolling in the 3-5 year old program must turn 3 years old by December 31st of the year they enroll.
The classes are registered with New York State as Kindergarten classes.
The 3-5 year olds attend class according to the following schedule:

Each classroom follows a daily routine which involves the following activities:
- Circle
- Work Time
- Gym/Playground Time
- Bikes
- Special activities (music, nature, movement, etc.)
- In house special activities and bus trips (making apple cider, fire department visit, trip to a play, visits by a storyteller or a musician, visits from Norwalk Maritime Center, etc.)
Full day classes will have more than one block of work time and more outdoor play time, generally about 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the afternoon.
Early drop off and late pick up are available. Hours available vary by site.
Lunch
Children in full day classes bring their lunch from home. Lunches are kept in the refrigerator and microwaves are available for warming food at lunch time if needed.
All full day children must rest for one hour during the middle of the day.
In keeping with our philosophy of maintaining a comfortable, homelike atmosphere, our teaching staff supervises the lunch and rest time Monday - Thursday. Fridays are set aside for planning, teacher training, etc. and are supervised by trained lunch staff.
