The "New Twos" Summer Program is a wonderful first separation experience for your young two year old. Let our trained staff help you and your young toddler comfortably separate for the first time. Separation is handled individually for each child. There is a lot of outdoor playtime, water play, many messy art activities and the typical classroom activities appropriate for our youngest learners.

In order to attend the "New Twos" summer program, your child should turn two by September 2012. The class will consist of a group of approximately 10 - 13 children with a teacher, 2 assistant teachers and 1 counselor. Children do not need to be toilet trained.

The Toddler / Transitional Summer Program is for the two to three year old who has attended a program where they comfortably separated from their caregiver during the past school year. There is a lot of outdoor playtime, water play, messy art activities, hands on science, music and so much more! If your child was in an Alcott School Toddler Class, every effort will be made to place him/her with classmates from the previous school year. The Toddler class will consist of a group of approximately 15-17 children with a teacher, two assistant teachers and a counselor. Children do not need to be toilet trained.

Our morning summer program will run from 9AM -12PM in both the Crane Road and Dobbs Ferry locations. Children will have the opportunity for outdoor play, water play, art experimentation, computer work, hands on science activities, music, movement, nature and so much more. Our indoor classrooms are air conditioned and provide a variety of learning materials for the children to explore. Each week will have a special theme and a variety of developmentally appropriate activities.

We also offer extra hours for our 3 to 6 year old children. While you could enroll your child for only the afternoon program, most families use this option to extend their child's morning schedule. Our indoor classrooms are air conditioned and provide a variety of learning materials for the children to explore. Children bring their lunch from home. All lunches will be refrigerated and warmed if necessary. At noon children enjoy a social time on the playground followed by lunch either indoors or outdoors. Each day has a special theme or activity. Plans include messy art, cooking, gardening and of course lots of time for relaxing, socializing, and playing outdoors! Children may enroll for one or more days each week in this exciting afternoon enrichment program.

Our full day programs are designed to meet the needs of families requiring care for a longer period of time or for children who are ready for a longer day. Our indoor classrooms are air conditioned and provide a variety of learning materials for the children to explore. Full day children will bring their lunch from home. All lunches will be refrigerated and warmed if necessary. After a morning of active play both indoors and out they will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing social time with their friends. A rest time follows and the afternoon is filled with a special activity each day! Plans include messy art, cooking, gardening and of course lots of time for relaxing, socializing, and playing outdoors! Each week will have a special theme and a variety of developmentally appropriate activities.

Our Extended Day Class is located at our Crane Road location. The program runs from 8 am to 5 pm. Early drop off between 7:30 and 8 am is available as well as late pick up between 5 and 6 pm. We will provide breakfast and a healthy afternoon snack. Parents are expected to provide their child's lunch. All lunches will be refrigerated and warmed if necessary. The children enjoy an active, theme based program in a warm, loving classroom. Our indoor classrooms are air conditioned and provide a variety of learning materials for the children to explore. This program is designed to minimize the stress on working parents by providing a high quality program with the extended hours working parents need.
