Issue: December 14 - December 22, 2020
School will be closed from Dec 22-Jan 3rd, 2021 We wish you a safe and healthy Winter break!
Happy December- Holiday Month. We are so happy and grateful to be open and working in person. We are really enjoying every day together with our students.
Being in school every day and practicing the daily routine has allowed the children to fully adjust and adapt to our new school procedures in the classroom, hallways, bathroom, gym and outdoor spaces. All the students are really successful with social distancing, handwashing, putting on their masks when indoors and working within their own space in the classroom (shelf, table, chair, cabinet.)
Over the past two weeks we have been talking about the new winter season, the weather changes and how do we adapt to the changes. We read the story “My Snow Globe” by Megan E. Bryant and discussed about the hibernation and what animals do in the wintertime.
We also conducted the science experiment Snowstorm in a Jar. The children observed the mixture of oil, Alka-Seltzer, water, glitter and food coloring and its reaction. Everyone was so excited and couldn’t wait to see the tornado happening inside the jar.
Our Art Enrichment artist for this month was Henri Matisse. We worked on the art project “Christmas Matisse.”
