School closed on Wed 3/10 for Staff Development

Dear parents,

Over the last two weeks we have been learning about community helpers/people in our neighborhood. The children enjoyed working on the finger puppet crafts about firefighters, police officers, mail carriers and teachers. We read books about the community helpers. We also are working on finishing up our artist of the month painting The Starry Night Van Gough. Students are really having fun while working on their step by step instructional art activity.

We also celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday last week. We have been reading Dr. Seuss books every day, learning about rhyming words and working on the Thing1 and Thing 2 crafts. On Tuesday, Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we all came dressed in blue and red, everybody including the teachers had crazy hair and a Thing 1 to Thing 20 label on their shirt. We read The Cat in the Hat and ended the day with a special snack.

We had Pajama Day on Friday. All the students looked so cute in their jammies, we had cookies and milk for snack and read Pajama Time! by Sandra Boynton.

We are really looking forward to the nice/warm weather to spend more time outdoors playing and learning. On the days when we can’t go outside because of the weather, we do go to the gym and play organized sports, obstacle course activities, always being mindful of social distancing.

All the best,

Kaltrina, Diane, Ruby and Marie
