Dear parents,

We just want to thank you for your help during remote learning. We are so grateful to have wonderful and supportive parents. We wouldn’t have been able to accomplish online teaching without your continued support. It was a big challenge for parents, students, and teachers too. However, we do consider it as a very successful experience.

The children were engaging, active while participating in Zoom and sharing their Google Classroom activities. We really enjoyed morning circle time, the calendar, the weather, reciting the alphabet, letter of the week, finding objects around the house that begin with the letter of the week and seeing the teacher’s faces without a mask. We enjoyed story time, reading books about birds, butterflies, and frog life cycle, “The Day the Crayons Quit”, watching a puppet show about the squirrel and her friends, a color mixing activity and movement songs about 5 little speckled frogs and swimming. We had Zoom Spanish with Senora Christina and Zoom music with Ms. Melissa.

We couldn’t wait to see each other again. We were so excited to be back in our classroom and use our Montessori materials. We did finish our artist of the month Starry Night portrait, made Irish Soda bread, and finished our Saint Patrick’s Day arts and crafts.

To welcome Spring Alcott will have Spirit Week from April 12th through the 19th. Spirit Week is always a fun time for students and staff. Everyone will come to school dressed according to the theme of the day. Please be on the lookout for an Alcott email with all the details.

All the best,

Kaltrina, Diane, Ruby and Marie
