Issue: February 1 - February 12, 2021

Reminder: School closed February 15th - 19th for Winter Recess

Dear Parents,

We cannot believe January is already over but even though February is the shortest month of the year, we have a lot going on! We begin the month with Groundhog Day and the children will learn about shadows.

With the new month of February comes one of the children’s favorite holidays: Valentine’s Day! Over the next few weeks the children are going to be busy with activities related to the holiday. We are going to learn about friendship, love, sharing and kindness. We will sing songs related to the Day with Ms. Melissa. On February 12th we’ll be celebrating with a Valentine’s Day breakfast! We will also learn about Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the Ox and we will learn about China and how people around the world celebrate this holiday.

We will start talking about President’s, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and how important they were in our American history.

We will be learning new sounds: “H” and “V”. We will review all the sounds and numbers we’ve learned so far and continue practicing our writing skills.

Please remember to check your child’s backpack at the end of each day to see some of the great work your child did that day!

Regards,

Eva and Helene

Please help us all stay safe - remember to wash cloth masks everyday😊
