Dear Parents,
The children have enjoyed many fun and educational activities the last few weeks. We had fun visit from Melissa, our nature lady, the children really enjoyed learning about ferrets and hedgehogs. They also have been learning about nutrition including what the 5 food groups are and how these foods help us to stay healthy. The children brought home their beautiful Thanksgiving placemats, they enjoyed creating them and expressing what they are thankful for this year.
We continue to talk about kindness to others and how we can help in the classroom. We practice good manners and the importance of caring for our classroom. We did a science experiment called” sink and float” the children found items inside and outside the classroom and guessed if they would sink or float in water. I asked them to explain why they did or did not. We have been reading a selection of Thanksgiving books.
We will be introducing more science lessons in December. The exploration of the planets and their moons. We will be learning about the Milky Way and also the comets. The children will create a fun diagram of the solar system. We will also be creating holiday art. We will continue our peace discussions. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.
Fondly,
Ms., Lorraine, Ms. Patti & Ms. Lillian
