Reminder: School is closed 3/29-4/2 for Spring Recess
Dear Families,
Our class spent the last couple of weeks learning about birds through stories, doing 3-part card work, tracing the parts of the bird puzzle, and more. We are hearing robins and sparrows singing and even saw a hawk flying above our playground. We also did some St. Patrick’s Day crafts, mixed blue, and yellow paint to create green, and learned how to cut out a shamrock. Additionally, we learned about the artist Seurat and the use of pointillism in his paintings and copied his style by using fingerpaint. In the coming weeks we will continue to discuss and identify the signs of spring, do spring crafts such as handprint flowers and watercolor butterflies. The children will also decorate eggs which are a symbol of spring.
To welcome Spring Alcott will have Spirit Week from April 12th through the 19th. Spirit Week is always a fun time for students and staff. Everyone will come to school dressed according to the theme of the day. Please be on the lookout for an Alcott email with all the details.
Warmest regards,
Ms. Jess, Mrs. Pascal, Ms. Nancy & Ms. Dionisia
