Hello Alcott Families,

Happy March… time flies so fast these days. I hope you are doing well. The children have been happily working on their letters and numbers and also on fun activities such as scrubbing, painting, digging and exploring all things pertaining to dinosaurs. I must confess I was surprised by how much knowledge some of the children had about these incredible creatures. Even more impressed... with how some of our boys and girls could easily pronounce those long dinosaur names. It was a fun learning experience for both the children and the teachers. We celebrated the life of Dr. Seuss whose birthday was on March 2nd with read-aloud stories, followed by arts and crafts and having fun with rhymes. Please visit the classroom corners page on the Alcott website and view just some of the fun activities we photographed.

Spring is right around the corner (hooray!) and we are all looking forward to spending more time outside playing and exploring the beauty of the upcoming season. Each March, I love reading to the class In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb. It is a fun book that goes along with the old saying: “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Each child had the opportunity to share what type of weather pattern they prefer... most of them prefer “lamb” weather. A couple of the children stated they enjoy “lion” weather because they get to play in the gym. Hopefully, mother nature will be gentle with us this month. We will also be exploring the continent of Europe and the beautiful country of Ireland.

We look forward to meeting with all of our families (via zoom) during Parent/Teacher conferences on Friday, March 19th.

Warmest regards, Mrs. Rocafuerte, Mrs. Cinquina and Ms.Guglielmi
