School will be closed from Dec 22-Jan 3rd, 2021 We wish you a safe and healthy Winter break!

 

Dear Families:

We have less than two weeks of school left before holiday break starts. We will continue learning about the different holidays to promote children’s understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures in the world.

The children will also continue exploring new concepts through various fun activities. For example, one of many new activities is a Mystery Box. The teachers will hide an object in a Mystery Box daily. The children are going to guess what it is by three clues given to them. This activity will promote their language skills as well as problem solving skills. Another fun activity is painting at the easel using different tools. The children will learn different art forms through their own exploration. “Sink or Float” experimentation with different objects in water, is a new science activity we are adding to the environment. The children will be encouraged to take care of themselves: by putting on and off their outerwear, washing hands, cleaning up after snack, and taking care of the classroom.

Due to the pandemic, we will not be having any holiday parties with families. However, we will have lots of fun activities at school to make the rest of December as festive as we can. We are sure that children will recite holiday songs for you and create some artwork. Please enjoy them!

If you have not done so, please send us a seasonal appropriate change of clothes to keep at school.

Practical Life:

Transferring objects between cups, using spoons and tongs

Transferring colored water from one bowl to the other using baster

Drawing using crayons and markers

Working with non- interlocking puzzles with/without knobs

Working with simple interlocking puzzles

 

Sensory Regulation:

To experiment with different textures through various play such as playdough, painting and gluing
