Theme: Father and Father’s Day

 

We will learn about dads and get ready for Father’s Day. We will also continue with our learning of earth,  how to take care of our environment, and to peacefully  live with others.

 

 

ACTIVITIES

Geography:

-Watch video of 5 Ocean song

-Making flags (choose one or two you like to make from sample)

 

PRACTICAL LIFE:

- Spiral tracing with beans/marbles/ pompoms

-Wiping leaves of indoor plants

-Ice cube transfer using thongs

-Washing outdoor toys

 

Language:

-Reading books on nature and different habitats

Suggested books are:

"The Family Book" by Todd Parr

"My River" by Shari Halpern

"My Dad" by Steve Smallman

"Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea"  by Jan Peck

"Are You My Daddy?"  by Ilanit Oliver

"I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean" by Kevin Sherry

"My Dad" by Debbie Bailey

 

-Letter tracing on a paper with crayons and  Markers

-Watch videos

-Make a list with 5 things you know about your dad, with mom dictating

 

Sensorial/Math

-Counting objects 1-10, 10-20

-Matching numbers (concrete objects) with numerals (written symbol)

-Number tracing on a paper

-Work on work sheet (optional)

-3 D shapes (watch you tube video)

Science:

-Dancing rice experiment

-Parachutes Making

 

Fine Motor:

-Snipping/cutting using scissors

-Coloring and drawing with makers and crayons

-Copying simple shapes such as circle, X, zigzags, cross, triangle

-Drawing with chalks

 

Gross Motor

-Walk, run, jump, climb

-Throw and catch a stationary ball

-Ride a scooter, tricycle or crazy coupe

 

Sensory Activities:

- Playing with plastic toys in a tray with shaving cream

-playing with Kinetic sand:  Kinestic sand receipt (1 cup of sand, ½ cup of cornstarch and ½ cup of vegetable oil)

 

Self-Help:

-Putting shoes on by yourself

-Putting on and taking off own clothes (with some assistance by an adult if necessary)

-Putting on and taking off socks by yourself

 

Social Emotional Skills:

-Using proper words to request and to show appreciation (may I help you, thank you)

-Sharing and taking turns

-Watch videos (Sesami street Whoopi’s skin & Elmo’s Fur, It’s ok to be different)

-Express own feeling using words

Important Notice:

In regard to our Moving-Up Ceremony, please save the date of June 23 at 9:00 because we’ll have a drive through/parade in our parking lot.

Raindate: June 24 at 9:00. We are putting the final touches on our plan so please be on the look-out for more information.

I am preparing each child’s belongings and certificate to be packed in a bag for easy pick up on Friday June 12, between 2-4
