Ms. Sylvia's Class : December

Dear Parents,

Thank you for attending and sharing your wonderful delicious delights with us at our Thanksgiving feast! We enjoyed visiting with you and celebrating this holiday together! The children had a wonderful time being with their friends as well as their loved ones.

This month our class will focus on the continent of North America. During our first week we will focus on our biosphere and living things. We will discuss winter and practice putting on coats, mittens, and hats independently. We will have winter activities like an indoor “skating rink.” Week two we will learn about vertebrates, and invertebrates. Week three will cover an introduction to all the continents and the biomes that are found there. We will explore the celebrations taking place around the world. If you would like to come and share a tradition, read a story, or bake with us, please let us know. As we continue to focus on PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) as a school wide curriculum, we will focus on PBIS outside the classroom: we will focus on walking in the hallway with hands on your side. Please help us by reminding the children to walk in the hallway instead of running to be safe. This helps us extend showing respect for others by walking in the hallway.

Here are some important reminders and upcoming dates this month:

· We attempt to go out daily, weather permitting. Make sure your children are dressed warm to go out, coats, hats, mittens, boots, and sneakers.

· Before entering the classroom, please wash hands to help our class stay healthy, and use bathroom.

· For your calendar:

· December 19 at 2pm: Sing-a-long and Gingerbread House decorating! Please come sing and decorate a house with your child.*Please bring 2 cans of frosting

As always, thanks for your help and support!
